Collaborative Divorce is another option open to couples going through the divorce process. In Collaborative Divorce, contested issues are not submitted to the Court but are discussed in a collaborative, team setting. Each party is represented by an attorney, who provides their client with legal advice. The parties then decide which additional professionals may be helpful, usually including a communication coach who facilitates the discussions. This process is ideal for families with younger children and / or families who have multiple assets or complicated finances. Ms. Ruben is trained and certified as a collaborative family law attorney.
